RESURRECTION: PORTERVILLE, CA

The development of cities is inevitable in this day and age. Something that must be a necessity in the design of cities is the inclusion of public space. Public space can be very successful by celebrating the diversity that many cities hold and being inclusive to everyone. Some aspects that are important to think about are accessibility, comfort, location, sociability, and activity. When people feel like a place is approachable, they have the ability to express themselves and let go of that “first time” anxiousness when being somewhere new. Resurrection is taking the concept of integration between musical expression as well as classic library aspects. The Porterville library was burned down in early 2020; Resurrection is meant to celebrate the old library as well as bring new life into downtown Porterville.
